Some milestones of our company history

1980
Mark Magidson establishes Moldex in California. The first product is a disposable dust mask for the American market.

1985
Together with Martin Skov a R&D and production site for the European market is established. The Moldex-Metric AG & Co. KG in Walddorfhäslach near Stuttgart, Germany is formed.

1986
With the production and sales of foam earplugs, Moldex enters into the field of hearing protection.

1990
Moldex develops the first exhalation valve for FFP masks. Due to its low exhalation resistance it quickly gains popularity among users.

1994
The introduction of the Series 8000 half mask marks the beginning of the new product line “Protection against gas, vapour and dust”.

2000
Martin Skov’s two sons, Roman and Torben, take over the management of Moldex Europe.

2008
Moldex removes PVC from all its products and packaging to become the first manufacturer of personal protective equipment to be 100% PVC free.

2009
Attractive product design is increasingly gaining importance in the PPE market. The anatomically designed WaveBand is nominated for the renowned “German Design Award”.

2010
With the Series 9000, Moldex introduces its first full face mask. The lightweight, frameless construction and the EasyLock filter system without adapters are unique to the market.

2013
The maintenance free CompactMask is introduced to the market. It has a very low profile due to permanently mounted three-dimensional shaped gas and particulate filters. The product is awarded the iF Product Design Award.
